CCQ Christmas in July -

CCQ's Christmas In July is actually three events held during the July meeting.  More details are shared at the May & June CCQ meetings, including show n tell of quilts exchanged in past years.

1)  finger foods!  At the July meeting, attending members bring and share finger foods.

2)  Attending members exchange homemade tree ornaments.  The only rule is that it must be home made.  It can be any craft medium.  (Bring it wrapped.)  During the July meeting, everyone who brought an ornament can select an ornament in exchange.  (Participation is optional.)

3)  Christmas In July Quilt Challenge takes place at the July meeting.  Anyone wanting to participate places three1/2-yard cuts of  fabric in a brown bag.  Include in the bag your name and if you have a preference for a type of quilt, such as a table runner or wall hanging.  Also indicated if your fabrics are pre-washed or not.

At the July meeting, participating quilters will "grab" one of the brown bags.  If you take one of the bags, you must make a project using the fabrics.  The quilted project must be at least 24" square.  You can add fabrics from your stash, but it must use some of each of the three fabrics from the brown bag.  What you make is up to you.  (Keep your project and whose bag you picked a secret!)  Include a label on the back, identifying the date, owner, and quilter, and include a swatch of fabric from each of the three fabrics the owner originally placed in the bag.

Participants will exchange FINISHED projects at the annual CCQ Christmas Party in December.
